Tannenbaum Auction Will Begin November 6
WHAT: Decorated trees, topiaries, wreaths, centerpieces and specialty items donated by business, individual, civic groups and youth will go on display at www.tannenbaumauction.com as well as The Homestead at Hickory View, 1481 Marbach Dr., Washington.
WHEN: Starting Nov. 6, all donated items will be placed in a silent auction. Bids will be accepted at the auction website and in person at The Homestead. The silent bidding will end Nov. 15 with a holiday celebration and public auction.
WHAT ELSE: Entries donated by businesses, individuals, civic groups and youth will be judged on various criteria by an expert panel and the top scoring items from each category (topiaries, wreaths, centerpieces and the “Can’t Live Without It” category) will be announced at an awards party one week before the live auction, Nov. 8 from 4-6 p.m. Winning items and all trees then be up for public auction Nov. 15, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
WHAT FOR: 100 percent of proceeds go to Friends of Emmaus to purchase two new vans capable of transporting residents with special needs. Tickets are $20 if bought before the event and $25 at the door the night of the celebration and tree auction. Tickets may be purchased at The Homestead or from “the traveling walking talking tannenbaum trees” appearing at community events are around town.
