Don Graham, Westlakes Subdivision leader, who recently was appointed to the Pacific Planning and Zoning Commission, filed for election to the Ward 2 seat in the April 8 municipal election, creating a third race in the election.

Graham is challenging Steve Myers, who was appointed in May 2013, to complete the unexpired term of Jerry Eversmeyer.

The former Ward 2 alderman resigned to move to Alaska where he planned to assist his daughter-in-law and grandchildren while his son was deployed in the military.

There will be two other Pacific races in the April election — Mayor Herb Adams and Police Chief Matt Mansell each face a challenger.

Jeff Palmore, who owns and operates Bell Funeral Home, is challenging Adams for the mayor’s seat.

Franklin County Deputy Dale Goodwin is seeking to unseat Police Chief Matt Mansell.

Two incumbent aldermen, Ed Gass, Ward 1, and Mike Pigg, Ward 3, are unopposed as of Jan. 17.

Also unopposed are Collector Debbie Kelley and Municipal Judge Daniel Leslie.
