These two images from the Missourian Archives ran in the June 29th weekend Missourian. The Missourian archives contain thousands of photographs that appeared in our newspaper over the past 100 or so years. We are going to feature photos each week in the Weekend Missourian and, eventually, many more on our online edition. If you remember this photo or can identify the people in the picture, let us know by leaving a facebook comment, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org We want to hear from you!
Maureen Voss let us know that this picture of the boy holding the days catch, is of her husband Dale Voss when he was about 12 years old. He is now 54 years old, and still fishes today, but instead of Lions Lake he fishes the Missouri river. He had a photo 2 years ago which was in the Missourian of an 80 lb catfish he caught on a trot line. Dale grew up in Washington and now resides in Marthasville with his wife Maureen.
Sara Mades and Cindy Frick both emailed in identifying this patriotic little girl as Nancy Lupardus, daughter of Jim and Carol Lupardus. Nancy was a 1999 WHS graduate. We have also received Facebook comments below confirming the same!
