Motto Students

Second-graders at St. Clair Elementary School are busy this week creating a sign in the fence that separates the school driveway with Bardot Street. The pupils wrote their names on Styrofoam cups and witht he help of teacher Gala York are placing them in the fence to write the school's motto, "Live, Learn, Lead for Life." Here, York helps Jeffrey Stevens place his cup in the fence as the students work on the word "learn."

For the last 15 years, a man from Pontiac, Ill., south of Chicago, has come down to St. Patrick’s of Armagh in Catawissa just to cut tomatoes for the annual church picnic. And the most unusual thing about that story is that there’s nothing unusual about it, said Billy Murphy, president of the St. Patrick’s Preservation Society, which has cared for “the Old Rock Church,” as it’s known to locals, since 1972.
